Mission
CeReNeM’s research team brings together world-leading researchers and artists at the cutting edge of contemporary music performance, composition and new sonic media who are publishing highly innovative and interdisciplinary work in the areas of acoustics, sound spatialisation, digital interface technology, improvisation, new notations, the study of musical perception, temporality and cross cultural aesthetics.
CeReNeM’s key industry partners are the renowned Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, the GEMdays Festival of Electroacoustic music and the internationally acclaimed ELISION Ensemble. These, in formation with CeReNeM’s own Huddersfield Contemporary Records CD and DVD label, online journal and masterclass, seminar and concert series, enable the centre to provide a vibrant platform for research, professional exchange and high quality postgraduate training.
