Associates: trio with Adèle Margulies (piano) and Victor Herbert, later Leo Schulz (cello). Other associates at National Conservatory; Andton Seidl, Rafael Joseffy, Horatio Parker, Dvořák.

Professional appointments: member of Theodore Thomas Orchestra, and of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Principal violin professor at the National Conservatory, New York (appointed 1888).

Pupils: Arthur Judson.
