Family: Eugène Sauzay (pupil and son-in-law); son, René-Paul Baillot, violinist; daughter, Augustine, pianist.

Associates: Viotti, Rode, Kreutzer, Spohr, Gaviniès, Jean-Baptiste Cartier, Lambert Massart, Hummel, Paër, Mendelssohn, Chopin, Berlioz, Rossini, Bellini, Donizetti, Meyerbeer.

Professional Appointments: Member of Théâtre Feydeau Orchestra (1791), directed by Viotti. Professor at Paris Conservatoire (temporary appointment, 1795, confirmed 1799, and continued till 1842). Principal second violin in Napoléon's "Musique Particulière do Premier Consul" (1802). Orchestral leader at Paris Opéra (1821-1831); leader at the Chapelle Royale (from 1825).

Chamber ensembles: Quatuor Baillot, founded 1814: original members; Charles Guynemer (Baillot's brother-in-law), Antoine-Alexander Tariot, Louis-Pierre Norblin. Later, Eugène Sauzay became second violin, and Chrétien Urhan, viola.

Pupils: Sauzay, Charles and Léopold Dancla, Habeneck, Auguste Kreutzer, Lalo, Mazas, Urhan, Charles de Beriot.
