Earlier editors have added slurs to this passage; Joachim/Moser preserve Bach's distinction

The fingering in this and the following bars, allows the player to play the slurred 16ths without sliding. Earlier editors make a point of such slides.

An unusual example of a written-out trill, perhaps in order to suggest a slowish alternation of pitches. Another example comes in the Chaconne's penultimate bar.
