This is surely a misprint,probably derived from the Peters edition edited by Wilhelmj; all other editions begin the soloist's pizzicato two notes later. Like Dessauer and Dont, however, Auer (following Wilhelmj) ignores Ferdinand David's reinstatement of a bar from the autograph here, which was also omitted (perhaps intentionally) in the original edition (1808).
