This is surely a misprint. All other editions, except Auer, who probably derived his readfing from this edition) begin the soloist's pizzicato two notes later. Like Dessauer and Dont, however, Wilhelmj also ignores Ferdinand David's reinstatement of a bar from the autograph here, which was also omitted (perhaps intentionally) in the original edition of 1808 (See Clive Brown's edition of the Violin Concerto (Breitkopf und Hartel, 2012).
