Jean Delphin Alard
Alard (1815-1888), a celebrated teacher (Baillot's successor as professor of violin at the Paris Conservatoire from 1843-1875) published a considerable amount of music for the violin as well as an Ecole du violon (1844). As an editor his most notable achievement was Les maîtres classiques du violon, a collection of 56 violin works from the 17th-19th centuries.
