Arcangelo Corelli » Violin Sonatas (complete) » Jensen, Gustav - Augener
In his preface, Jensen acknowledges Joachim's edition as the source of the 'original' ornamentation. He states that his added bowing and fingering is only for the use of students, acknowledging that professional violinists will want to devise their own. The fingering, like Dolmetsch's, makes no concession to historical practice; it involves the use of higher positions on the lower strings, harmonics, and fingerings that imply or invite portamento.
