Like the Piano Trios opp. 99 and 100, this retains David's name as editor, but contains significant alterations to the editorial markings. The information on the title page is the same as the 1882 edition except for the addition of the words 'Neu revidirte Ausgabe'. The date of the revised edition is speculative. The old plates have been reused but with alterations to the articulation and fingering in many places. The differences in fingering are especially revealing of changes in practice between David's time and the mid 20th century.
