Henri Wieniawski » Deux Mazurkas caractéristiques » Marteau, Henri - Peters

There are a number of early recordings of this music, most notably by Ysaÿe (nos. 1 & 2) and Kubelik (no. 2). Ysaÿe's recording demonstrates just how freely violinists of the late 19th and early 20th centuries felt able to manipulate and modify the notation in order to personalise the music.
