CHASE

This copy is from the Uppingham Collection. It appears to have been used quite often by Paul David for performances at the School. A small number of blue crayon markings (identified by red boxes online) appear to be by his father Ferdinand David.

The edition was announced in Bartholf Senff's Leipzig journal Signale für die musikalische Welt 24(1866), p. 831 as follows:

Novitäten der letzten Woche. [...] Divertimento No. 3  in Bdur für zwei Violinen, Viola, zwei Hörner und Bass (Violoncell und Contrabass) von W. A. Mozart. Für die Aufführungen im Saale des Gewandhauses und zum Gebrauch beim Conservatorium der Musik zu Leipzig genau bezeichnet, auch für Violine und Pianoforte bearbeitet von Ferdinand David. 

[Novelties of the last week. [...] Divertimento No. 3 in B major for two violins, viola, two horns and bass (violoncello and double bass) by W. A. Mozart. Precisely marked for performances in the hall of the Gewandhaus and for use in the Leipzig Conservatorium of Music, also arranged for violin and pianoforte by Ferdinand David.]

Earlier in the year (9 January) it had been performed at a Gewandhaus chamber concert, where it was enthusiastically received and reviewed in the Signale für die musikalische Welt 24(1866), p. 84:

Dieses Stück - zum ersten Male hier zu Gehör gebracht - hat sich mit einem Schlage die Gunst der Hörer erobert, eben so wie sein Vorgänger, das Divertimento in D, welches in der vorigen Saison solche Freude erregte und dem es auch  - bei ziemlich ähnlicher äusserer Anlage der sechs Sätze - ganz ebenbürtig ist an Liebenswürdigkeit der Erfindung, Feinheit der Factur und Wohlgefälligkeit der Klangwirkung. Mit voller Umsicht und hingebendster Liebe wurde das reizende Stück dargelegt von unseren gewöhnlichen Quartettgenossen den Herrn David, Röntgen, Hermann und Lübeck und den für Contrabass und Hörner noch hinzukommenden Herren Backhaus, Gumpert und Lindner. 

[This piece - heard here for the first time - immediately caught the fancy of the listeners, just like its forerunner the Divertimento in D, which roused such joy last season, and with which - with its rather similar external arrangement of the six movements - it is wholly on a par as regards  charming invention, fineness of construction and delightful sonority. The lovely piece was laid before us with complete sensitivity and devoted love by our usual quartet partners Messers David, Röntgen, Hermann and Lübeck with, in addition for the double bass and horns Messers Backhaus, Gumpert und Lindner.]
