The Prime Minister has fired the country's Defense Secretary, Gavin Williamson over his involvement with a recent Huawei leak. 

Last week, the UK had plans to use Huawei tech in ''non-core'' parts of its 5G infrastructure, these plans were shared with the Daily Telegraph.

After investigation, it is revealed that Gavin Williamson was responsible for the leaks. 

Penny Mordaunt has been brought  in as his replacement- becoming the the first female defence secretary. Stating that Theresa May has made her final decision and she is priveliged to gain the role of defense secretary and is ready to get on with the job. 

In a letter to Williamson, May wrote that she needs to be able to trust the people in her cabinet so that she can have frank, private conversations. May also revealed that she was concerned with the way in which Williamson engaged with the investigation into the leaks, suggesting he may have been less than cooperative.
