New owner due to meet Town head coach Siewert

Phil Hodgkinson will meet with Huddersfield Town head coach Jan Siewert for the first time today.

Siewert - who took over from David Wagner on January 21 - picked up only a fourth point at the helm with the 1-1 draw against Manchester United on Sunday.

Dean Hoyle, who has sold a 75% controlling interest in Town to Hodgkinson, says Siewert has suffered because of the attitude and application of the players, which had set in well before the previous head coach left.

The new boss has been backed by both Hoyle and Hodgkinson to take Town through the summer transfer window, into a first pre-season with the club and then into the 46-game Championship season.

Siewert confirmed after the United game, in which Isaac Mbenza netted the equaliser, that he will sit down for the first time today to talk things through with the new chairman.
