The M62 has been sealed off in both directions following a police incident and a serious collision which happened this morning, diversions caused chaos across West Yorkshire as the motor way was closed.

There were two separate crashes involving a male and a motorbike which happened at 1.00am, the other crash involved a car and the roads was closed from 5.35am until 11.45am, traffic was still visible over West Yorkshire with roads closed all over the kirklees area.

A statement was made by North West Motorway Police, they said:

"There are likely to be delays on M62 east bound carriageway, it is closed from j22 to j24 as West Yorkshire police have a couple of incidents on the go, beware of tail backs back into the Greater Manchester area, all traffic being taken off at j22."

According to traffic alerts the motorway has been closed since 5.35am while police attend an incident on a bridge over the M62.
