Yesterday the Ministry of defence released files about every UFO sighting they had recieved from 2000 to 2009. These files have been released after several freedom of information requests had been submitted.

Here in Yorkshire there were 156 UFO sightings reported in those nine years with the most sightings reported in 2009 (38) and the least in 2006 (3). The sightings ranged from seeing bright lights, to Jellyfish shaped objects flying around in the sky.

Huddersfield had a few vsitors during that time. One report from July 2009 said "A black spherical object 12m in diameter. It was 500ft up and travelling at 500 mph. It made no sound. It had a light on but switched it off when the witness shone a torch at it."

This further opens the question to whether UFO's are real but if the aliens have seen war of the worlds then it's probably best that they stay away for now.
