Comedian Jason Manford says he was turned down for a job at Tesco. The 38-year-old posted a picture of his rejection email online, joking that he's "absolutely livid".

The star mentions he was only trying to do his bit by applying to be a online driver. Along with saying he listed "comedian" on his CV, with the line: "I know it's all in the delivery."

A Tesco spokesperson has said in a statement “It looked like Manford had missed the deadline for the vacancy - but is welcome to reapply for any future roles. Jason's skills would have no doubt brought a lot of joy to our customers and colleagues, so it's a shame he didn't make the deadline for this vacancy. But should he ever want to join the Tesco family in the future, we'd be happy to receive an application from him."
