Alone Response

After posting my podcast, I have had a few comments posted responding to it, And I would like to talk about those comments as a review of my issue that I put forwards. Firstly, a comment from Victoria Wadsworth, and then a comment from Thomas Warren. I will start out with Victoria as she was the first to comment.
She writes that the podcast made her feel very emotional; the podcast got through to her that technology is a massive part of our lives and how much we rely on it. I have Effectively use Jean as she references her in the comment saying that, if Jean was cut off from everything so suddenly it would be a lot more impactful than if anyone else younger was cut off during COVID-19. While she does not address the issue that I put forwards about how to fix this, she does say that the podcast made her want to help our older generations to more connected with the community. So at the very least, she’s recognising the issue. As for the second comment by Thomas Warren, he comments about the beginning of the podcast, the material possessions that we all own. He goes into greater detail about what it is exactly that he has his items for, which was a task that I set in the podcast to help engage an audience. And just like Victoria, comments that the fear of being cut off from everything and unable to do anything about it like someone elderly is a terrifying statement. Finally, he comments that there’s not really a solution to the issue I presented, which was my point the whole time. The issue is complicated and extremely hard to solve. And I think that the lack of an easy way to solve this problem has had a great effect as a statement on the people who have commented. I believe that the comments that I’ve been given proof that there has been engagement within the community of people that have listened to the podcast and has inspired them to think more about the issue I presented.
There didn’t seem to be any opposing arguments to the information I put forwards, nor did I find any disagreeing with any comments posted in replies. However, I do believe that the podcast presented a good enough issue as to provoke a discussion and conversation about this topic.
