Wake up - Response

In response to my podcast ‘Wake Up’, I shared my podcast link to Twitter and Snapchat in order to reach a wider audience. I received some comments on my podcast’s comment section and they included that it was a “great podcast”, that they “agree with everything that was said” and that it was “well edited”. These comments were very helpful and helped the audience contribute by giving their own screen times and feeling involved when talking about it.

The first place I promoted my podcast on my Twitter account and I embedded a clip of my introduction to appear as a teaser which would help to attract viewers and make them curious to hear the full podcast. However, as I have not been the most active on my Twitter account, I did not get any responses on it as I have a low follower count due to not using Twitter as often. To improve next time, I want to work on my Twitter platform and eventually have a larger following. I believe I can do this by posting and being more active. Overall, this will help me in the future with podcasts as I will have a larger audience who will tune into my work and be more likely to leave comments.

I also posted this on my Snapchat story and uploaded it the same as I did on Twitter so anyone who views it could swipe up and listen to the full version. In total I got 16 responses on Snapchat in the 24 hours that my story was posted. I got positive feedback overall and many people were sharing their own opinions and screen time as well as realising how much they use their phones. One response on Snapchat stood out to me was from Charlie who suggested “social media helps me be more creative” and “inspires her with her artwork” which is a different perspective.

Although my podcast focuses on the negative impacts of social media, I realised that it can help people discover their passions as they may be interested in becoming part of the social media industry. I am very happy that my podcast made people become more self-aware on how they spend their time on their phones and what impact the little device in their pocket is having on them every day.
