Web story: Lockdown easing

Since Boris Johnson announced the easing of lockdown. Many people are overjoyed and can meet outside in groups of six. This means that businesses will return to normal. Such as retail shops opening and the high street. Shops like Primark had one of the biggest openings on the weekend. With many people splurging over shopping.

Many people are relived to be out of lockdown and having the rules lifted as they feel that this has improved their mental health. As people are now able to socialise outside in a close setting. And be able to enjoy the sunny weather in the parks. However, Boris Johnson has warned that the lifting of lockdown rules must come with sensibility and people are still not allowed to socialise indoors. As further changes are not due to be made until May 17th under government plans.

On the other hand, Huddersfield town is ecstatic with businesses resuming and hairdressers opening after a long time. And pubs opening as they faced many continuing issues and financial loss, therefore it was good to see their doors opened so that customers could enjoy their first pints after 5 months.

Students are also now able to get out of their accommodation and attend lessons on university campus with some social restrictions in place. Destiny Rufus a student at university of Huddersfield quotes ‘that its nice to go out and meet other human beings’ and he hopes that the lockdown is lifted.
