Last week, I released a podcast onto media Hud and advertised it on all my social media to gain as much attention as possible. My podcast was about the spiking issue that the UK is currently facing and the ways that it is being combatted. It also includes a small interview with a spiking victim. The podcast has gained attention and received a few comments that I will analyse now.

The first comment was from ‘Adelle’ who thought that my podcast was very interesting. She also commented on the social climate of spiking by saying “While its reassuring that conversations are happening for West Yorkshire, more definitely needs to be done and those who are guilty of these crimes should face harsher penalties”. Adelle has commented on the narrative I constructed in my podcast and has sparked further debate by stating that she thinks more needs to be done.

The next comment comes from Travis Cox who described my podcast as informative. He claims, “I feel as though those who were uneducated on how to receive help before will now be able to take the right action, thanks to your podcast”. This shows how my podcast is informative to those who may not have been aware of the signs of spiking or how to combat it.

Another comment comes from Eleanor Cooper who claims it “was really good to hear first-hand what had happened when Georgia was spiked and how she felt about the terrifying experience”. This is good to hear as it shows that awareness for spiking can be spread through victims like Georgia sharing their experience.

The final comment comes from Andy B who suggests that “the government needs to introduce new laws severely punishing anyone caught doing this”. This is very similar to the opinion expressed by Adelle and suggests this could be a common thought when listening to my podcast.

Based on my feedback, I think it is safe to assume that it has inspired lots of thought into the issue of spiking – which is something I aimed to achieve when making the podcast. These comments suggest that my podcast may be helpful in spreading the word about the spiking issue and helping to combat it.
