Leeds United

Leeds United are set to assign Jesse Marsch as the new head coach after parting company with Marcelo Bielsa after loss to Tottenham on Sunday.

In the last 3 and a half years, Bielsa transformed the teams fortune on the pitch which began with the 3-1 demolition of Stoke City, and later he led Leeds to the Sky Bet Championship Play-offs in his first full session in charge. And in his second campaign, Bielsa succeeded where those before him failed.

Marcelo has had a huge impact on the club on a scale that we have not seen before. However, the past few months the club has proved to be difficult as the team has just recorded 5 premier league wins. Former player Gary Neville says, “they are not exciting anymore, they are just bad”. Fans and former players believe the club has become extremely desperate and the team has no respect for the opposition players.

This has been the toughest decision I have had to make during my tenure at Leeds United, taking into account all the success Marcelo has had at the club, says Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani.

Looking at the recent results and performance of the club, it is clear that they have not met everyone’s expectations, therefore, a decision had to be made.
