GREENHEAD PARK'S PADDLING POOL OPENING THIS SUMMER FOLLOWING REFURBISHMENT

Greenhead Park's paddling pool will be reopening this summer, following a refurbishment.

It has remained closed since 2019, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Kirklees Council have announced works are starting today and includes repairing cracks in the pool's surface and structure, as well as resurfacing the general area. Fences will be enacted around the perimiter of the pool, with minimal disruption to park users.

Colin Parr, Strategic Director for Environment and Climate Change said:

“I am delighted the paddling pool will once again be enjoyed by families from across Kirklees and beyond this summer. This important community asset, which is free to use, has brought enjoyment to many for over 80 years now. It will be great to see it open once again, and the park filled with the joyous sounds of those paddling and playing in it.”

“Greenhead Park is one of our award winning Green Flag parks and I hope those who visit enjoy everything this wonderful park has to offer.”

Opening times will be confirmed once the works are complete.
