West Yorkshire saw the most hate crimes reported against someone with a disability between October 2017 and October 2018. 536 reports of hate crime is a shocking number, but is it necessarily a negative figure?

Could it be that West Yorkshire have provided an education to their population, both disabled and non-disabled, about what the signs of hate crime are and how they can intervene and report it?

And how much further does this education need to go before figures of disability hate crimes reports can be reduced? Not because those with disability's live in fear, but because they live in an enviroment that is educated in preventing hate crime.
