Response - Eating Meat vs Not Eating Meat

Today, I will be responding to my podcast as I happened to get some very good feedback from a variety of people who listened to it. Firstly, Will struck my eye with his comment as part of his feedback was “It’s certainly made me consider my diet and the wider impact it can have.” This shows people like Will are beginning to understand the consequences meat might have. People like him recognise the impacts they maybe didn’t know before the podcast and are wanting to act on them so that they feel happier and healthier. If more people understood the wider impacts meat consuming can have, it is likely that more people will act upon them.

Another comment that was added was by Martin. He put “Some really interesting opinions there. My view is that we should all try to at least reduce the amount of meat we eat and eat lower impact meats e.g. pork rather than beef.” Martin understands the issues that eating meat can have and has even gone further to suggest an alternative way that we can eat meat (lower impact meats). If people acted upon little suggestions like this, it could slowly resolve the mass consumption of meat, and may even make people re-evaluate their diets. The ‘interesting opinions’ he mentioned shows that everyone in the podcast had a valid argument and that they engaged the listeners.

There were no opposing arguments to this podcast as I believe that everyone is free to choose what their diet is. There are ways to slightly change a diet (e.g. eating less meat) and this would still impact the world if more people did it. I believe that at the end of the day, people can consume the meats they want to however when we start to see clear impacts on meat consumptions, it may be time to take action.
