I don't think women are 100% safe when going out. They always have to take extra precautions to make sure that they and their friends are safe the entire time. As your guest mentioned, they always make sure that their friend is within their eyesight. There are obviously solutions to prevent a decent percentage of spiking such as covering your drink, but that doesn't fully solve the issue as people are still being spiked. Instead, we should (as a society) turn to the women and especially men who are responsible for the spiking and educate them on this topic to prevent people spiking others in future. How they can be educated is still a bit up in the air as to what js the best solution, but should it work, it would provide a safer experience for the women of Huddersfield and across the country.

Its so important to recognise the dangers women face just by going out and enjoying life. Being spiked is scary but not knowing who or why they did it is scarier. Acknowledging all the precautions women take to be safe is both devastating and admirable. I dont think we will ever be safe, theres always gonna be someone with bad intentions, but being around people we trust will help us feel supported and protected.

In all honesty It's a 50/50 yes women are within certain company those with good intentions in favour of a good night out to have fun and banter with friends etc but on the other hand of course there are those with Ill intentions those who want to harm people and try to take advantage of you unfortunately there are those out there who like to intimidate cause harm and induce trauma in many way so yes I agree women are sadly at a pace where they do and rightfully so feel unsafe it's upsetting and we as a culture need to tackle this issue and bring a sense of safe haven to woman who are just out or a good time and enforce precautions to ensure safety for all.

Women are not safe, we have to be on guard wherever we are. Men never have to feel this way, carry their car keys in their hand. I honestly have a huge dog so I can walk in the dark and feel safe, without him I WOULD NEVER walk alone in the dark, how sad is that. I’m off on my works night out tonight, 5 women, we’ve already had a conversation about being spiked!!! That’s how sad the world is. So in conclusion women are not and never have been safe

Personally whenever i go out i'm wary but not to the point of it's too dangerous to go out kind of thing, but there is always that anxiety about going about because of how frequent spiking stories are and the worry is that it could be literally anyone as your interviewee said and you wouldn't know,it shouldn't be a situation that clubs and venues judge on when i think its down to them a lot more to put precautions in place for spiking and it can also effect their business overall. Women shouldn't have to feel terrified to go out,no one should.

I don't think women are safe I wish it were the case but I don't think it is. Sadly, having seen the lengths to which people will go (ie, injecting people with HIV) I think it will be a while before we're properly in a safe position. In the night life of Huddersfield, there's a lot of drugs. It can, not always but can, make peoples behaviours that bit more unpredictable. Until men, an the issue does lie with men, as a whole see it as an issue, only then will it be an issue that starts to resolve itself!
