The Government and McDonald’s: A Match Made in Monopoly

Audio:

In a world ruled by multinational corporations and in a year where the economy is at its worst, how exactly has the chain fast food market continually managed to succeed and even excel?
That is the question I have wondered, and this podcast will explore my thoughts and some behind the scenes opinions on that very topic.
And I hope to hear what your opinions are as well. Feel free to comment your thoughts below or Tweet at me @LunaNotLunar_

Special thanks to Aidan J Wileman for his insight on the topic.

I think businesses like McDonalds have took an opportunity to make more revenue out of a bad situation, consequences of doing so has cost the smaller businesses and restaurants massively. I do not think the government have took into consideration that franchises such as McDonalds have a bigger safety nets when it comes to the crisis all businesses have had to face either that or they know bigger businesses have bigger tax bills which keeps the governments pockets lined with cash especially for all the hand outs that have been given. Out one hand back into the other id say. The government and businesses as big as MacDonald's took the life jacket smaller businesses needed and simply watched them drown to essentially save themselves although they was in a better financial situation if not the best

Really good points, it really is worrying how much disreguard there looks to have been from both McDonald's and the Government on the eventual treatment of smaller usinesses and the support given. Thanks for your thoughts!
