Witness Hearings for HIV scandal in Leeds

The Infected Blood inquiry will be holding public hearings where those effected by the hepatitis C and HIV blood scandal in the 70s and 80s.

 

The witness hearings will take place over a two week

period at the Crowne Plaza Hotel starting from the 11th to 21st of June.

Two men jailed for life after murder of Amriz Iqbal

Mohammed Nisar Khan and Tony Grant of Bradford have been jailed for life for the murder of Amriz Iqbal in October 2018.

Iqbal died in hospital, after he was fatally injured by a hit and run in broad daylight when walking in the Bradford Moor area with a friend.

Khan and Grant were both found guilty of Mr Iqbalm, attempting to murder Mr Ahmed and two charges of conspiracy to pevert the course of justice offences.

His family speak out on the ''cowardice'' of the murderers, and remember the ''wonderful human being'' their son was. 

The family statement said: "Amriz's life was taken by the worst kind of cowardice - a group of men armed with weapons and masks using a vehicle to attack whilst he was walking in the opposite direction for a motive he had no knowledge of.

Judge Jonathan Durham Hall described the attack as ''ruthless and barbaric''
